Stop TB Initiative at Manipur
JVGCT, The Union (International NGO) and Government of India have started the work against TB in the hilly terrain of Mao, Manipur.
In association with The Union and District Tuberculosis Office (DTO), Senapati; basic orientation on TB, technical modalities & Government Schemes & facilities was conducted at JVGCT’s InTOUCH Health clinic, Mao. The objective of one day orientation was to build capacity (knowledge, skills, and attitudes) of the staff (JVGCT’s InTOUCH Clinic), ASHA workers and health facilitators for better implementation of the project in the targeted geographies.
Designated Microscopic Centre
Training of JVGCT’s InTouch staffs for DMC was conducted at DTO office, Senapati. In-Touch staffs were briefed on TB. Separate training program was conducted for doctors, nurses and lab technician respectfully. After the sensitization programme on TB; the DMC-cum-DOT (Directly Observed Treatment) Centre at JVGT’s InTouch Health Science Centre was launched.
J.V. Gokal Charity Trust (JVGCT) had organized blood donation camp at Chowk village of Alibaugh block of Raigad district on 16th November 2014 in association with Late Sudhatai Oak Seva Pratisthan & Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, Alibaug.. With the overwhelming response of youths from local community and surrounding villages, 108 blood bags were collected on the day. Raigad District AIDS Control Society provided the technical support for blood collection and safe storage.
During the camp, awareness on HIV & AIDS was carried by volunteers. Blood donors were provided donation card, by which the donor can avail the blood from blood bank in case of his / her requirement.
29 students form ASUFU CHRISTIAN INSTITUTE (Institute located at Punanamei Village, near Mao Gate, Senapati District, Manipur) visited Mumbai City from 31st October to 5th November 2014. J V Gokal Charity Trust supported this tour under educational development program.
Students visited following institutes during their visit to Mumbai.
JVGCT and Shri Krisnhna Foundation extended help during the disastrous conditions of flood in J & K by sending 5000 pieces of blankets for affected villages in said area. Operation Sadbhawana helped us reaching people.
Complete Blood Count, ESR, Blood Sugar Fasting (or Random), Lipid Profile and Blood Group with Rh factor Checkup was done for employee's of J V Gokal & Co. Pvt. Ltd., on 20th Sep 2014 by J V Gokal Charity Trust
JVGCT in association with YMC participated in School health camp for approximately 500 students of the YMC School at Tara. The camp was conducted between 28th and 31st January; 2014.Team of the doctors from MGM carried out physical examination of the students, provided medications and talked about healthy day to day behavior.
Together with the school health camps conducted by JVGCT, blood group identification was also done for 453 students and blood group card was given to each of them.
Anemia profile was also done among these students and the iron deficiency anemia prevalence among them was found out. The study result showed that approximately half of the students suffer from moderate anemia and the prevalence among females was greater than those of males. JVGCT distributed iron supplements to these students.
On 6th June 2014 JVGCT, in collaboration with YMC and Mahatma Gandhi Mission Medical College (MGM), Kalamboli, Navi Mumbai conducted a Health and Eye Check up Camp at Deolwadi village, Raigad. Project team members visited target villages one day prior to camp for mobilizing maximum beneficiaries for this activity.15 doctors of different specialties like Medicine, Ophthalmology, Orthopedic, Surgery, Gynecologists, Pediatrician, Skin, Ear Nose Throat (ENT) and Community Medicine from MGM Hospital took part in the camp. General Health Check up and eye testing were carried out during this.
