Maternal & Child Health (MCH) Project at Talasari (Dist. Palghar, Maharashtra) in Association with Larsen & Toubro Public Charitable Trust (LTPCT)
Malnutrition is commonly seen among tribal communities due to various reasons and practices. Combating malnutrition is one of the biggest challenges for government. With support from LTPCT we are trying to reach community for making difference.
Project aims to cover following objectives:
Project was launched on 23rd May 2017 at Talasari in presence of :

Our project team include social workers and community mobilsers visits mothers in their villages for creating awareness about importance of best health practices & nutrition and offer counselling about safe motherhood.

Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) Project at Jambhulpada, Dist. Raigad in association with Mathura Foundation
This MMU launched on 19th March 2017. Mr. Ganesh Kanade (Sarpanch/Village Head, Jambhulpada) dedicated this project to the community in presence of

MMU manned with doctor, community mobiliser, social worker and other support staffs render primary health care services to 22 villages in and around Jambhulpada (Sudhagad Block, Dist. Raigad). Doctors consultation and medicines are given to the needy at “no cost” to the patient. This project is supported by Mathura Foundation, Mumbai.

Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) Project Navapur, Dist. Nandurbar by J. V. Gokal Charity Trust
J. V. Gokal Charity Trust (JVGCT) is working with like minded organizations in various parts of India in the sphere of Healthcare, Education and overall Social Development.
On 1st January, 2015, JVGCT launched Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) as a part of their community health care project at Zamanzar village in Navapur Block of Nandurbar district in state of Maharashtra where majority population is tribal. Due to inadequate healthcare facilities it is very difficult for community to access quality healthcare services. To address needs of the tribal community in the essential way, JVGCT collaborated with “Aashray Durg Bahu Uddeshiy Samajik Sanstha” to start a Mobile Medical Unit at Navapur block of Nandurbar district. Through this project JVGCT is trying to provide primary and quality health services at doorsteps. Services like Health Education and awareness has been pivotal of the functioning of the MMU.
“Aashray Durg Bahu Uddeshiy Samajik Sanstha” is a reputed “Not-For-Profit” organization working in Nandurbar for social development. “Aashray Durg” has been a partner organization of JVGCT to operate this project at Nandurbar.

Mobile Health Unit (MHU) at Lonavala in Association with Larsen & Toubro Public Charitable Trust (LTPCT)
As a part of Community Health Project J. V. Gokal Charity Trust (JVGCT) and L & T Public Charitable Trust (LTPCT) have started a Mobile Health Unit (MHU) Project at Lonavala, District Pune (Maharashtra). This Project was inaugurated on 16th December 2014 by Honourable Mr. A. M. Naik (Group Executive Chairman of Larsen & Toubro Limited) and Dr. K. J. Kamat (Trustee, Larsen & Toubro Public Charitable Trust & Director – Medical Services, Larsen & Toubro Limited).
MHU visits 22 villages around Lonavala town with four staff consisting of a doctor, nurse and other health assistants. Beneficiaries are provided with Doctor’s consultation and medicines at free of cost. Personal Hygiene, Health awareness is also imparted during visits to villagers. If needed, patients are referred to higher medical centres for further treatment.

This MHU Project launched on 9th December 2016 in presence of Dr. K. J. Kamat (Trustee, Larsen & Toubro Public Charitable Trust & Director – Medical Services, Larsen & Toubro Limited) Mr. Ram Deshpande (Secretary - Larsen & Toubro Public Charitable Trust) and Captain B. K. Kalra (Vice President – Strategic Systems Complex Production Centre Head - L & T Defence).
This MHU manned with doctor, social worker/community mobiliser and other support staffs renders primary health care services for the communities residing in the villages around Talegaon Industrial Township. Consultation and medicines are given at no cost to the beneficiaries. More than 20 villages are benefiting by this project.

JVGCT's In-TOUCH Health Science Center at Mao, (Senapati District) Manipur
J. V. Gokal Charity Trust has been working with like minded organizations such as In-Touch and Collaborative Development International (CA, USA) in rendering health care services to the needy community in Mao area of Senapati district Manipur since 2012. JVGCT has joined hands with “Integrated Tribal Organization for Upliftment Communication and Health (In-TOUCH)” which is Non Government Organization working for community development in hilly region of Mao, Senapati District since 1992.
The existing government healthcare infrastructure in Mao is neither adequate to cater to the healthcare needs nor easily accessible to the community residing in hilly and difficult terrain. Therefore, J. V. Gokal Charity Trust’ and In-Touch decided to start a “Low Cost Medical Center” at Mao Gate, Manipur. This Center was launched on 4th December 2014 for providing basic health care services.

JVGCT's In-TOUCH Health Science Centre at National Game Village, Imphal (Manipur)
J. V. Gokal Charity Trust has been working in association with In-Touch in Manipur since year 2012. We are trying to extend our services to needy areas where we get support from like-minded organisations. With support from Smt. Mary Kom (Member of Parliament – Rajya Sabha), we have launched health center at National Game village near Imphal town. This centre is catering to the health needs of the community residing in near about 1000 households and surrounding habitations. One doctor and nurse are deployed at this project site. This center takes care of trainees at Mary Kom Regional Boxing Foundation.

Arun Jagjivan Gokal Institute of Community Ophthalmology – Bhubaneswar (Odisha)
Managed and Operated By: Shushrusha Charitable Trust, Bhubaneswar.
JVGCT has initiated community ophthalmology services at S. S. Borda Hospital, Bhubaneswar. This institute conducts eye check-up and cataract screening camps at S. S. Borda Hospital & also in remote locations. Our team performs about 500 cataract surgeries (free of cost) every month. An operation at this institute has been managed by a team of dedicated ophthalmic surgeons and support staff. To develop human resources in eye care through teaching & training, we have started Ophthalmic Clinical Assistance (Two Years Duration) Course at Arun Jagjivan Gokal Institute of Community Ophthalmology.
Primary Eye Care Centres in Odisha
Managed and Operated By: Shushrusha Charitable Trust, Bhubaneshwar.
To reach the rural community in remote parts of Odisha, JVGCT has started 5 Rural Eye Care Centres. Team of Ophthalmologist, Ophthalmic Assistant, Nurse and Support Staff visit each center every week for screening. Patients are screened for eye illnesses and brought to Arun Jagjivan Gokal Institute of Community Ophthalmology at S. S. Borda Hospital, Bhubaneswar for further treatment. The services at these centers are provided free of cost.

“Jagjivan” Low Cost Surgery Centre, Nandurbar
Managed and Operated By: Medicare Surgical and Dental Hospital.
JVGCT collaborated with “Medicare Surgical and Dental Hospital”, at Nandurbar in Maharashtra to offer affordable surgical services to needy. Aim of this surgical centre is to give affordable surgical services to patients who come from low socio-economic strata. JVGCT provides medicines and surgical supplies (pre-operative, operative, post-operative) required for surgeries and hospital offers services at nominal rates, so that no patient is denied of life saving surgeries.
