Drinking Water Supply, Water Conservation and River Widening Activity at Beed, Maharashtra.

JVGCT as an organisation have been actively involved in helping people in time of need and crisis. We are well aware of the severe drought that has engulfed a few districts of Maharashtra. We as a team look forward to lend a helping hand towards the people in need of water, a basic necessity for survival.

JVGCT’ Project team member Mr. Anand Pawar, personally visited drought affected area twice to understand severity of the problem and had rounds of discussions with the families residing in few villages (Kaij Block, Beed District). It is difficult to comprehend that children and women travel 3-4 km daily for just a few pots of water.

JVGCT supplied 15 tankers of water every day to few villages in Beed District, namely Warab Gaon, Lokhandi, Shahruk Wadi and Chincholi Mali. Approximate 12000 individuals were benefitted by this activity.

Supplying water was timely but it is not permanent solution. Therefore, JVGCT initiated widening of river bed. About 3.5 kilometres of river bed was widened and we could see tremendous result during first rain fall. Water level in most of the tube wells and traditional wells were increased. We could see riverbed filled with rain water during first week of rainy season.

This activity was also supported by few like minded organisations and corporate.

Skill Enhancement Training Centers

To financially empower underprivileged men and women, JVGCT has started Skill Enhancement (tailoring trade) Training. This training shall help these men and women to earn livelihood security and improve their living standard.

We are running tailoring training program at :-
* Special Economic Zone, Falta, West Bengal.
* Amira Village, Near Diamond Harbour, District : 24 - Parganas, West Bengal.
* Padalam, District : Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu.
