Arun Jagjivan Gokal Institute of Community Ophthalmology, situated in Bhubaneswar is specifically for the eye ailments, keeping preventable or avoidable blindness in focus. AGJICO is located at the premises of S. S. Borda Hospital. The team of dedicated ophthalmic surgeons and support staff relentlessly work towards this and thus every month more than 500 cataract surgeries are conducted free of cost to the patients in this institute.

Fellowship programs for the ophthalmologists and also 2 years course of ophthalmic clinical assistant are also conducted here, with the aim of raising efficient eye care professionals from the community.

At Paradeep port, a second model of AGJICO is replicated. Industrial laborers and Truckers are the main beneficiaries being the neglected group this center is started with the aim to cater to them.

There are 6 primary eye care centers, which acts as the rural satellite centers. They are located in Khurda, Puri and Jagatsinghpur districts of Odisha. They help us to reach out to the rural population. Through these centers the patients are screened for eye illness and then brought to the hospital for further treatment. After the required treatment, they are observed for a day and dropped back to their respective places. Transportation, accommodation, food and treatment are provided at no cost to the patients.
